Primarily a landscape painter, Mary works in multiple layers of oils with a painterly impressionistic style. During travels from the Minnesota countryside to the shores of Hawaii, Jamaica, Curacao and Mexico, she attempts to capture favorite moments in time knowing they will never be exactly the same… Inviting the viewer into each composition and then leaving them free with their own thoughts.
Mary majored in art at Wisconsin State University. She's also studied at the Minnesota River School, for years under Doug House and Bloomington Society of the Arts under Fred Dingler.
Mary's is currently a featured artist in Kulak Gallery in Woodbury. Her work has shown in galleries as far south as Mazatlan, Mexico and as far north as the Totem Pole in Nisswa, Minnesota. She's She was previously a featured artist in both Uptown Images of White Bear Lake, Grassland Gallery in Mall of America, and Corazon in downtown Minneapolis. Her work is marked by inspirations from Monet, Wolf Kahn, and various other impressionists.
Mary contributes to several art societies and is currently a member of the Burnsville Art Society, Bloomington Art Center and the Minnesota Valley Art Society.
